Our 5/6 Black and Varsity Black WLYF teams narrowly missed bringing home the Championship trophy in two very competitive hard-fought games. Congratulations to all
the West Linn youth football teams on an outstanding season. West Linn youth football continues to shine in the competitive Tualatin youth football league that encompasses the entire Portland
metro area. Our teams went a combined 55-20-1 for the season. Gratitude goes out to all the volunteer coaches, parents and especially the kids for a fun season. See you next year.
ALWAYS REMEMBER...NEVER FORGET
Steven Matthew Forsyth, an incredible father to one of our own (Alex, class of '17), was the ultimate
supporter of West Linn youth sports. Whether it was as a coach on the sidelines, or as a parent volunteer, Steve brought an infectious passion to our town's teams that made the experience a lot
more fun for everyone.
Steve touched so many of our lives, as well as our childrens' lives, that we want to keep the spirit of his soul alive and
thriving within all that we do within our program. We encourage everyone to learn more about the Memorial Scholarship Fund that has been established in Steve's memory and the
Volunteer Award that will be given out each season in his honor. Strive to be the best you can be
every day...a coach, a volunteer, a parent, a person...
2013 President's Message
Welcome to the West Linn Youth Football program. We are only a few short weeks away from kicking off the 2013 Season. Once
again, I would like to thank the parents, community, sponsors, coaches and the WLYF board for their efforts in making 2012 the success it was. I would also like to thank retiring WLHS Head Coach
Ron Chappell for his many years of support for our program and welcome new Head Coach Michael Fanger to the West Linn community.
The season was memorable in many ways, returning to the more traditional green and gold uniforms, a respectable showing in
post season playoff action and continued growth of our cheerleading squads for a fourth year. West Linn once again...
A Great Time to Think About Player
As we move towards the beginning of our season, it's a great time for everyone (coaches & parents) to keep player safety in their minds. All our teams' coaching
staffs are trained & certified for handling concussions, CPR & general first aid and will put player safety as their first priority.
We have put together a Player Health & Safety page and strongly
encourage all our families to review the materials on this page to ensure that we're all more prepared to recognize & address any safety or medical issues that may occur as we go through the
