ALWAYS REMEMBER...NEVER FORGET
Steven Matthew Forsyth, an incredible father to one of our own (Alex, class of '17), was the ultimate
supporter of West Linn youth sports. Whether it was as a coach on the sidelines, or as a parent volunteer, Steve brought an infectious passion to our town's teams that made the experience a lot
more fun for everyone.
Steve touched so many of our lives, as well as our childrens' lives, that we want to keep the spirit of his soul alive and
thriving within all that we do within our program. We encourage everyone to learn more about the Memorial Scholarship Fund that has been established in Steve's memory and the
Volunteer Award that will be given out each season in his honor. Strive to be the best you can be
every day...a coach, a volunteer, a parent, a person...
2014 President's Message
Welcome to the West Linn Youth Football Program. It is hard to believe we are only a few short days away from the start of the season. I would like to thank all the parents, community,
coaches and the WLYF Board for making the 2013 season a success. I would also like to welcome the new WLHS Head Coach Chris Miller to West Linn and our football community. The addition of Chris
to our has program created a great deal of excitement and I look forward to his leadership in the years to come.
2013 was a memorable year for our program. We had several of our teams qualify for the playoffs and saw all 3 of our ¾ teams experience a great deal of success during the regular season
and medal games. At all levels, our teams showed the poise and character you come to expect from a West Linn team. We look to build on the success we experienced in 2013 and carry that forward to
the 2014 season. We are heading into the 2014 with 10 teams which is 1 additional team from the 2013 season. This is a reflection on the rich tradition of our program and love of football in our
A Great Time to Think About Player
As we move towards the beginning of our season, it's a great time for everyone (coaches & parents) to keep player safety in their minds. All our teams' coaching
staffs are trained & certified for handling concussions, CPR & general first aid and will put player safety as their first priority.
We have put together a Player Health & Safety page and strongly
encourage all our families to review the materials on this page to ensure that we're all more prepared to recognize & address any safety or medical issues that may occur as we go through the
